This past weekend we spent the day at a snow sculpture contest. It is amazing how a block of snow can be transformed. Sam enjoyed playing in the snow more that anything. It was a nice family day.

Moving forward

We have decided to not try to adopt this little girl not only due to the complications with the state, but also because the mothers facilitator will not provide any records until we have traveled. So we will continue on the journey to adopt.

Disappointed

We knew there would be hurdles but had no idea how high we had to jump! Our state/agency is not adoptive friendly. They make it hard to adopt out of state, because they want you to adopt in state. Basically there are 4 states involved in this adoption, and our state has a problem with that. So we have tried to eliminate one by relinquishing in another state but now are state/agency is not happy with that either. In the past we have found that lawyers, agency, and the state work together. I believe it is important to protect against child trafficking but I think this situation is going far beyond that, there needs to be a one federal law and not individual state laws to prevent trafficking and allow families and children to come together. We are still pursing options with this adoption , and are putting our faith in God.

New hope

We received a call yesterday from St Joesph Ministry's and they have found a five year old girl who needs a home. Another thing we have learned in the adoption process is everything is a hurry up and wait. So Rob and I spent the afternoon and evening getting our letter and photos fedex'ed out. We are hopeful but highly doubtful because of so many hurdles that are involved.

Back to our routine

We are back to our routine this week!! It kinda feels good, we had a slow go at first. We let Sam stay up later during the Christmas break and she played a lot of wii. So I sure she would disagree that it feels good.

On The Road Again

We have contacted St Joseph Ministry and we have started to look for our forever children again. I don't think the ruling will change but if it does we would still be considered. I am at peace with this and know God has it all planned out for us.
Today we celebrated Rob's birthday. We took in a movie (bed time stories) and had a nice dinner at Mac Graths. Sam and I enjoyed the restaurant staff singing happy birthday to him with a fish hat on.
